Community Organizations
- The Hangleton & Knoll Project are the local community Development
team and are mainly responsible for the Neighborhood action plan
and delivering youth and community development as well as IT training.
They are developing their own web site which will be up and running
soon, until then you can find out a small amount about the about
them here.
- HaKIT are a local project set up to provide IT training
and access for local residents. They also put on fun days for children
and families and you may also catch them whenever an event is running
in the centre.
- Little ducklings have their own
web site for parents to have a look at and find out about the playgroup.
- Brighton
& Hove City Council provide large number of service and has
a web site which can help direct you to the people you need and
has useful search function to help get hold of information quickly.
Hangleton Community Centre Funders and Sponsors
and supporters
- The council own the building that we occupy, support us with grants
and maintain the running of the building of which we are very grateful.
- Provides
equipment for all community and voluntary organisation's including
computers and printing equipment as well as a wide range of equipment
for fundraising events, meetings and socials.
- The Brighton
& Hove Working Together Project (WTP) provide free training
for the Brighton& Hove Community & Voluntary sector from
practical First Aid to running an effective committee. Courses are
re-run providing there is demand for them, currently the WTP is
working with the CBN on running courses specifically for individuals
who manage community buildings.
- Regional Action In
the South East (RAISE) work with community and voluntary organisation's
in order to provide advice, training and information about enterprise
in the south East of England. They recently organised a course on
Business Start Up which resulted in the production of HCA's business
plan.
Community
Buildings sites
- If you operate a Community Building in Brighton
and Hove and not registered as a CBN member go and do it now! The
support from the Network is very helpful and It only costs £10
to join. For this you get to attend CBN meetings where guest speakers
com to talk about issues that will effect You will be able to find
out information about other community buildings from the CBN site
- A
National Organisation who offer membership to all Community Associations
and provide training, information and legislative updates on Issues
relating to community associations as well as creating publications
for Community Associations particularly those who operate a community
building.
Training
and Support Organisation's
- Brighton and Hove's leading free
training project provides a wide variety of training cover all aspects
of managing community and voluntary organisation's.
- Have an an IT problem? No matter how large or small get in touch
with SCIP, they can put you in touch with a range of people who
can help you through your problems, provide you with training and
general advice on your IT issues.
- Does your work
have a large community development function or are you currently
look into break into community development? The TDC run a course
aimed to give people a qualification in community development called
'Working In Community Organisation' or WICO. Check their web site
for more info.
The trust also are responsible largely for the start of new community
development projects across the City and was actually born out of
The Hangleton& Knoll Project.
